The Watts SmartStream (TM) ultraviolet disinfection systems, model PWD016AFAX, is highly effective at providing protection against microbiological contamination in water for residential and commercial applications. This system has 3/4 inch x 1 inch combo NPT inlet/outlet connections and provides a flow rates up to 16 gallons per minute. Disinfection of water with SmartStream is a simple, rapid physical process. When contaminated water is exposed to SmartStream's 254 nanometer UV light, the UV light penetrates the cell walls of microorganisms and disrupts their genetic deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) material.
